MILITARY BURIALS
The National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal 2000 legislated
that, upon request of the next of kin, ALL ELIGIBLE VETERANS will receive
military funeral honors when they pass away.
The Military Funeral Detail will consist of; A. Minimum of two
uniformed members of the military with the detail leader from the parent
service of the deceased. B. The playing of Taps. C. The Ceremonial Folding of
the American flag and presentation by the detail leader.
Veterans service organizations may
augment the honors detail as an authorized provider.
