Who is eligible?

 

All members of the armed forces and federal government

 

Civilian personnel who faithfully served the United States

 

During the Cold War era, Sept. 2, 1945 to Dec. 26, 1991.

 

Individuals requesting a certificate will certify that their character

 

Of service was honorable.

 

 

 

Acceptable documents for proof of service.

 

Any official government or military document with recipients

 

Name, Social Security Number/Military Service Number/

 

Foreign Service Number and date of service is acceptable.

 

 

The Cold War Recognition Web Site http://147.103.18.232/ may shut down periodically for routine maintenance, this maintenance will occur on Thursdays between 7:00 and 11:00 AM US Eastern Time.

Use the sample letter below to request your Cold War Recognition Certificate by following these steps:
    1. - Copy the letter into a text format indicating either military or federal civilian service.
    2. - Enclose a Copy of the source document. For veterans this would be a "DD214." (DO NOT
