Reported aboard in Istanbul in August.
Asst. R Div. Officer under LT Lesinski. Took over R Div on arrival home in Norfolk.
Made "Bluenose" cruise across Arctic Circle, Nov. '49.
Through the Canal to Bremerton, then ORI in "Dago".
Occupation duty in Japan. Assigned as Asst. F Div. under LT Collier.
Korean Conflict - first USN action, then Formosa Patrol.
1st Div. Off. Back to Korea.
Back to Long Beach, one year after deploying.
Ordered to CIC School, Glenview, Ill. '51
Ordered as CIC OFF.to re-commissioning crew of Vammen, DE644 at Mare Island.'51
Deployed to Korea, east and west coasts, fired Shore bombardment with two 3in/50s, escorted carriers, etc.
Volunteered for Submarine duty - Sub School in July, '53.
Ordered to Grouper SSK214 - oldest boat in the fleet - SubDevGroup 2, NLON.

Shore duty, 1st Naval District, Boston - Reserve Recruiting Off. '57-'58.

Ordered as CO, Argonaut SS475, a Fleet Snorkel, SubRon6 '62. Cuban Missile Crisis.

Taught History at Norfolk Catholic HS, '69-'70.
Returned to home town, Norwood, MA, and taught History at my old high school, '70-'80.
Retired and moved to Plymouth, MA, '80 to present. Served as historical interpreter portraying the Master of the Mayflower in Plymouth Harbor, '80-'96.
